ALPHADOGS ENHANCES EDIT BAYS, USES LATEST AUDIO TECHNOLOGY TO MIX REALITY SHOW PROJECTS

Post-house continues to be in demand for reality-based television projects

AlphaDogs, Inc., a post-production studio focused on keeping clients “ahead of the pack,” today announced it has enhanced its post-production capabilities with a second online audio bay due to increased demand for quality audio mixing, bringing the studio’s total full-mix edit bays to five. The studio is using the enhanced audio bays for such projects as Ghost Hunters (Sci Fi Channel), Firehouse USA: Boston (Discovery Channel) and The Ultimate Fighter: Season 2 (Spike TV).

Each audio bay runs on an Apple® Power Mac G5 with dual 2 Ghz processors and includes Pro Tools HD2 Accel, Waves Platinum Bundle Plug-In Pack, Dynaudio 5.1 Monitoring Systems (speakers) and Dorrough Metering, plus 50 inch Sony HD televisions.

Marcus Pardo, AlphaDogs’ Emmy® nominated re-recording mixer who worked on Ghost Hunters, Firehouse and The Ultimate Fighter said, “Mixing with our new Dynaudio BM15a’s has actually made my job easier; the monitors are very detailed and I’m able to quickly find offending sounds or frequencies and notch them out. The system’s ‘true’ sound lends itself to the post audio world and it translates very well from studio to broadcast.”

Kathleen Burns Rohr, executive in charge of production for Pilgrim Films & Television, Inc., has worked with AlphaDogs in the past and handpicked the post-production house for these projects.

“Re-recording mixers for reality shows must be able to turn around shows fast. They must know all aspects of post-production audio,” Rohr said. “AlphaDogs’ audio team is able to skillfully edit dialog, cut in sound effects, choose and edit music, record foley and mix the shows in a very quick time frame.”
